2024 Series: I Am But A Pawn Of My Biological Imperitive (IABAPOMBI)

The last time I spoke to my sister on the zooms we were telling my 8-year-old daughter about how my sister who was also in the birthing suite with me. she had made me laugh through my entire labour and her birth. I said to her, that I loved the first thing my daughter heard when she came into this world was her mama laughing and I thanked her for that, and she burst into happy tears. My sister always led the way, having her children 20 years before me providing a home for them, and raising 2 very special and talented humans herself, her flying across the world to help me have mine was so special I can’t even put it into words. But then again if I could say it I wouldn’t have to paint it. I’m looking forward to giving her something to mark the occasion, adding a new story to our mythology.

I love the color combo she has picked Aqua/Orange/Gold for this #customart #commission as I was looking into doing a blue series after the current pink set is completed.

This is also so fun because I don’t usually try to include figurative as the centre piece so this is a bit of an experiment. I love the sampling and color testing that I do with commission pieces because it’s not something I do with my other pieces, where I usually just free flow, I’m really getting to play.
