Spoken Spells and Written Rules is inspired by the concept of a ritualistic or magical circle, enveloped in layers of mystical writings, symbolic iconography, and ancient patipembas. These elements intertwine to create a visual language of power and intention, evoking the sacred geometry and energies of ritual practice. In contrast, the figurative paintings are more narrative and representational, focusing on characters like the jaguars and Lady Rage to convey themes of strength, defiance, and identity.
